We are looking for a Marketing Specialist to support the execution of marketing programs on behalf of the sponsors of Mass Save. The eight sponsors of Mass Save work collaboratively on statewide marketing campaigns. We work with multiple advertising, PR, web and marketing agencies to develop thoughtful advertising campaigns that promote the good work our companies do for residential, business and municipal customers. This newly created position, Marketing Specialist, Statewide Marketing will work with many groups to achieve success. The position reports to Statewide Marketing, a committee of marketing leaders from each energy efficiency provider. The Marketing Specialist will attend statewide meetings, be the point of contact for all agencies, review marketing campaigns, advise on brand guidelines, and more. The Marketing Specialist will ensure consistency with business branding and objectives and execute projects based on our Brand Guidelines. The specialist will be detail-oriented, able to prioritize projects in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and be both a team player and individual contributor. Reports to the Statewide Marketing Committee with a direct report to the Marketing Manager of Energy Efficiency for Eversource.

About Us

Mass Save is a collaborative of Massachusetts' natural gas and electric utilities and energy efficiency service providers, including Berkshire Gas, Blackstone Gas Company, Cape Light Compact, Columbia Gas of Massachusetts, Eversource, Liberty Utilities, National Grid and Unitil. We empower residents, businesses, and communities to make energy efficient upgrades by offering a wide range of services, rebates, incentives, trainings, and information.

These programs and services are managed and delivered by electric and gas Sponsors (working closely with the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources), providing the energy expertise to help you save energy and money. The funding is supported from a charge on customers energy bills.

Through the joint efforts of the Mass Save collaborative, Massachusetts has earned top ranking as the #1 state in the nation for energy efficiency according to the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE). We continue to make strides in energy efficiency and build a clean energy future for everyone in the state.

Responsibilities:

  • Program Strategist: for special initiatives, programs and projects: leads, with the committees guidance, the creation and execution of advertising assets; radio, print, digital, etc. Analyzes research and measurement of campaigns and programs, communicates results and recommends improvements and/or adjustments.
  • Public Relations Strategist: manages the external PR agency, leads the weekly PR initiatives, main point of contact for all internal PR requests, meetings and initiatives.
  • Events and Sponsorships: thoughtfully reviews event sponsorships, speaking opportunities, white paper creation, award submissions and more.
  • Event Strategist: reviews, recommends, and plans strategic event opportunities
  • Maintains monthly, quarterly and annual marketing departmental advertising calendars and budgets
  • Coordinates with internal and external copywriters, graphic designers, photographers, and other vendors as needed.
  • Additional duties assigned as business needs dictate
  • Travels approximately 40% of time to sponsor offices, offsite meetings and on occasion events outside of the service territory.
Requirements:

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Proven track record of meeting timelines, prioritizing special projects, maintain milestone achievements and personal time management.
  • Be enthusiastic, a quick-learner and eager
  • Proficient/expert-level use of Microsoft Office; Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-starter with strong desire to learn
  • Results-driven, self-starter with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Requirements

  • 2-6 years marketing experience
  • Be enthusiastic, a quick-learner and eager
  • Proficient/expert-level use of Microsoft Office; Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-starter with strong desire to learn
  • Results-driven, self-starter with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Associate or Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, English or Business
